Gutters subcontractor jobs near you

Gutters are often the last trade on a roof or siding job, so the work comes from builders, roofers and remodelers who need a crew on short notice. Listings show the linear feet and downspouts, so pricing is quick.

The gutters work contractors post

  • Seamless aluminum gutters on new homes
  • Gutter replacement after a re-roof
  • Downspouts, extensions and underground drain tie-ins
  • Gutter guards
  • Half-round and copper on custom homes

Every project is posted by a builder or general contractor we've reviewed, with the town and ZIP code, bid due date and files. You see how far each job is from your shop.

How it works

  1. Set up your profile. Pick gutters and any other trades you do, your home ZIP code and how far you'll travel.
  2. Find and watch projects. Open the plans and photos, ask the contractor questions, and watch the ones you're pricing.
  3. Send your bid. Your price, earliest start date and notes, from your phone or computer. Only that contractor sees it.

No lead fees and no cut of the job. You agree on the contract and payment directly with the contractor.

Pricing gutters work from a listing

What contractors compare, and where gutters bids usually differ.

Check the listing for

  • Linear feet of gutter and number of downspouts
  • Size (5 or 6 inch) and color
  • Stories, and whether it goes on fascia or brackets under shingles
  • Whether old gutters come off and who hauls them
  • Timing compared to the roof and siding

How it's usually priced

Usually by the linear foot for gutter and downspout, with each downspout, elbow set, guard and removal priced separately.

Contractors compare bids side by side, so naming your units and what's included makes yours easy to pick.

Say what's in or out

  • Removing and hauling old gutters
  • Fascia repair behind the old gutter
  • Downspout extensions or splash blocks
  • Underground drain connections

Licenses and insurance for gutters subcontractors

Gutter work is usually covered under a home improvement registration or general contractor license where one is required. Contractors almost always want a certificate of general liability insurance.

On Contracting Bridge you can add your certificate of insurance and license to earn the Insured and Licensed badges, which show on every bid. Some projects require them. You can still see those projects and get your badges in place before you bid.

This is general information, not legal advice. Requirements change by state and city, so check with your state's licensing board and your insurance agent. What insurance subcontractors need

Questions from gutters subcontractors

Is gutter work worth bidding on its own?

Builders and roofers post gutter packages by themselves when their regular gutter crew is booked. They're small jobs, but they come back every time a house is finished.

Can I see when the roof will be done?

The listing has the start window. Message the contractor from the project page to confirm the date before you commit your crew.

Is it really free?

Yes. Posting, bidding, messaging and reviews are free while we launch, with no limits. General contractors will stay free. When a Pro plan for trades arrives, Founding Members get a lower price, and the free plan stays.

Where does Contracting Bridge work?

Anywhere in the United States. Projects are matched by distance from each trade's home ZIP code, so you'll see more activity as more companies join near you.

Do I pay to bid on an invitation?

No, and you never will. When a contractor invites you to bid, seeing the project and bidding on it is free on every plan.
