Tile subcontractor jobs near you

Remodelers and builders post tile packages for showers, bath floors and backsplashes, with photos and measurements. Your bid shows your price, start date and what's included.

The tile work contractors post

  • Shower walls and pans
  • Bathroom floors
  • Kitchen backsplashes
  • Large-format and heated floors
  • Commercial restrooms

Every project is posted by a builder or general contractor we've reviewed, with the town and ZIP code, bid due date and files. You see how far each job is from your shop.

How it works

  1. Set up your profile. Pick tile and any other trades you do, your home ZIP code and how far you'll travel.
  2. Find and watch projects. Open the plans and photos, ask the contractor questions, and watch the ones you're pricing.
  3. Send your bid. Your price, earliest start date and notes, from your phone or computer. Only that contractor sees it.

No lead fees and no cut of the job. You agree on the contract and payment directly with the contractor.

Pricing tile work from a listing

What contractors compare, and where tile bids usually differ.

Check the listing for

  • Square footage by area, and niches or benches
  • Tile size and type: large-format, natural stone or mosaic
  • Waterproofing system and who supplies it
  • Who supplies tile, grout and trim
  • Demolition of the existing tile

How it's usually priced

Usually per square foot by area, with waterproofing, niches, benches, trim pieces and demolition priced separately.

Contractors compare bids side by side, so naming your units and what's included makes yours easy to pick.

Say what's in or out

  • Waterproofing system
  • Niches, benches and curbs
  • Edge trim and transitions
  • Demolition and subfloor prep

Licenses and insurance for tile subcontractors

Tile usually falls under a home improvement or contractor registration where required. Contractors usually ask for liability insurance.

On Contracting Bridge you can add your certificate of insurance and license to earn the Insured and Licensed badges, which show on every bid. Some projects require them. You can still see those projects and get your badges in place before you bid.

This is general information, not legal advice. Requirements change by state and city, so check with your state's licensing board and your insurance agent. What insurance subcontractors need

Questions from tile subcontractors

Can I see photos of the existing bathroom?

Contractors can attach photos from the walkthrough to the project. If they're missing, ask in a message. It's private between you and the contractor.

How should I handle waterproofing?

Name the system you'll use, or say it's excluded if the contractor is supplying it. It's one of the biggest differences between tile bids.

Is it really free?

Yes. Posting, bidding, messaging and reviews are free while we launch, with no limits. General contractors will stay free. When a Pro plan for trades arrives, Founding Members get a lower price, and the free plan stays.

Where does Contracting Bridge work?

Anywhere in the United States. Projects are matched by distance from each trade's home ZIP code, so you'll see more activity as more companies join near you.

Do I pay to bid on an invitation?

No, and you never will. When a contractor invites you to bid, seeing the project and bidding on it is free on every plan.
