Insulation subcontractor jobs near you
Insulation follows framing and the mechanical rough-ins, so builders post it with their schedule. Remodelers post attics, basements and additions.
The insulation work contractors post
- New home walls, attics and rim joists
- Blown-in attic upgrades
- Spray foam on additions and basements
- Air sealing
- Sound insulation in interior walls
Every project is posted by a builder or general contractor we've reviewed, with the town and ZIP code, bid due date and files. You see how far each job is from your shop.
How it works
- Set up your profile. Pick insulation and any other trades you do, your home ZIP code and how far you'll travel.
- Find and watch projects. Open the plans and photos, ask the contractor questions, and watch the ones you're pricing.
- Send your bid. Your price, earliest start date and notes, from your phone or computer. Only that contractor sees it.
No lead fees and no cut of the job. You agree on the contract and payment directly with the contractor.
Pricing insulation work from a listing
What contractors compare, and where insulation bids usually differ.
Check the listing for
- Square footage of walls and attic
- R-values required by code or the builder
- Material: batts, blown, or open- or closed-cell foam
- Air sealing and baffles: in or out
- The inspection date
How it's usually priced
Usually per square foot at a stated R-value, with air sealing, baffles and foam priced separately.
Contractors compare bids side by side, so naming your units and what's included makes yours easy to pick.
Say what's in or out
- Air sealing and fire caulking
- Attic baffles and dams
- Removal of old insulation
- Re-inspection if the first one fails
Licenses and insurance for insulation subcontractors
Insulation usually falls under a general or home improvement registration where required. Spray foam installers may need manufacturer training, and contractors usually ask for liability insurance.
On Contracting Bridge you can add your certificate of insurance and license to earn the Insured and Licensed badges, which show on every bid. Some projects require them. You can still see those projects and get your badges in place before you bid.
This is general information, not legal advice. Requirements change by state and city, so check with your state's licensing board and your insurance agent. What insurance subcontractors need
Questions from insulation subcontractors
Does the inspection date matter for my bid?
Yes. Insulation is often on the critical path between rough-in and drywall. Put your earliest start date in the bid so the builder can schedule around it.
Should I quote R-value or thickness?
Quote the R-value and material. That's what code and the builder's spec call for, and it makes bids comparable.
Is it really free?
Yes. Posting, bidding, messaging and reviews are free while we launch, with no limits. General contractors will stay free. When a Pro plan for trades arrives, Founding Members get a lower price, and the free plan stays.
Where does Contracting Bridge work?
Anywhere in the United States. Projects are matched by distance from each trade's home ZIP code, so you'll see more activity as more companies join near you.
Do I pay to bid on an invitation?
No, and you never will. When a contractor invites you to bid, seeing the project and bidding on it is free on every plan.
